Editorial policy
Short version: every rebate amount, eligibility rule and date on this site comes from the official program or regulator page, the page is linked, and the date it was last read is shown. If something cannot be confirmed on an official page, it is left out.
Where do the facts come from?
- Rebates and rules: only the official program, regulator or government page. For example Solar Victoria, energy.vic.gov.au, the Victorian Energy Upgrades program, the NSW Government's Energy Savings Scheme pages, the Clean Energy Regulator for small-scale technology certificates, and the relevant state or territory government pages. Retailer and installer websites are never used as the source for a rebate figure.
- How the technology works, running costs and sizing: government sources first (such as energy.gov.au and YourHome), then reputable independent bodies. The source is named next to the figure.
- Product facts: the manufacturer's own Australian website, quoted as a claim by the manufacturer, plus the Clean Energy Regulator register where relevant.
- Climate figures: Bureau of Meteorology long-term averages for a named weather station.
What this site will not do
- Invent prices, savings, reviews, testimonials or ratings.
- Claim to have tested or installed a product.
- Rank brands as "best" without evidence that supports it.
- Present the author as a plumber, electrician or adviser. He is none of those.
- Accept payment to change what a page says.
Prices and costs
Prices are shown as typical ranges from a named, published source with the month it was checked. Your quote will depend on the product, your existing system, access, electrical work and where you live. Use the ranges to sense-check a quote, not as a price list.
How often are pages checked?
All facts were last checked in November 2026. Rebate pages are the most time-sensitive and are reviewed first whenever a program announces a change. All rebate figures live in a single data file with the source link and checked date for each entry, so a change to one program is updated everywhere that figure appears.
Corrections
If you find an error, get in touch with a link to the official page. Confirmed errors are fixed and the checked date is updated.
